GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an All India Examination administered and conducted every year by IITs or IISc for admission to Masters and Doctoral programmes. Gate qualified candidates are eligible for scholarships (stipend) as per the prevailing procedure of the admitting institution. GATE Score is used as one of the biggest criteria for recruitment in most of the PSU’s. A total of 27 papers are conducted as part of the GATE examination. Candidates can apply for only one of the papers based on the discipline of their qualifying degree or their admission plan. While applying for the paper of their choice, candidates must also keep in mind the eligibility criteria set by the institutions where they wish to get admission.
GATE 2022 will be conducted by IIT KHARGPUR and the notification for the exam is expected to be released in July.The application form is expected to be released in September. Two new subjects were introduced in 2021, i.e., Environmental Science and Humanities & Social Sciences. Last year, MSQs (Multiple Select Questions) were also introduced in GATE.
